Interesting to note that the dam never ran out of Stakes company, running 2nd twice in a row in Listed company as a 2yo at Scone and Doomben before winning a Listed race over 1400 at the Gold Coast on the Tatts Tiara day moved there because of Eagle Farm problems, she grabbed a G3 placing on Caulfield Guineas day as a 3yo before running 6th in the Crockett and 4th in the Light Fingers (her final start) on resumption the following autumn, beating the previous springs Thousand Guineas winning Stay With Me in the process.
Seeing Manchester United relegated would mean more than words can describe to me.

Still in the original ownership according to Racing Australia.  Wonder if  Sheamus Mills was up at Swift's Creek enjoying a cold beer and a hot dog.

Monolink , a $900,000 yearling filly by I Am Invincible just broke her maiden at Swifts Creek in a $5,000 maiden. First prize $2,300 to bring her prize money to just under $10,000 Confused

One of the oldest tricks in the book.

A colt's worth $1m, and the breeder meets with a noted and well-regarded purchaser.  They agree on a sale price of say $1.7m, and the vendor is allowed to buy back in for a percentage of $1m.  Either that and/or the purchaser receives a kickback from the vendor.  After which the purchaser sells shares in the horse at the inflated value.

Not that I'm saying that's what happened here.

Railway Man - $2.5m colt at 2023 Magic Millions

Debuted with a 5th of 7 on the Kenso today beaten 6 lengths.

Curiously the horse was sold as a yearling by Coolmore, who are now also part owner.  Presumably majority owner given he went around in their purple with white seams today.  So was the true price actually $2.5m??

No. He is a very good horse despite only having a maiden to his name he has real good form.

Gai just paid £1.2m (roughly $2.1m aud) for the English Derby runner up - Hoo Ya Mal.

Only win is a 2yo maiden at York & started at 150/1 in the Derby.

Will he be Gai’s next Michaelangelo? Or Tres Blue?

Inglis Digital Lot 342 - Oceanity (Snitzel-Slice of Paradise) for sale as a Stallion prospect.

Description

Oceanity is offered for unreserved sale by his owners. The son of Snitzel who is an entire who was a $1million yearling purchase at the Inglis Easter yearling sale. As you can image he is a smashing type out of the black type family of Slice Of Paradice, Alinghi, and Beneteau.

Oceanity raced 6 times for a win and 4 placings including a close second at Sandown over 1000m beaten 0.4 lengths. He had tendon issues and after a long rehabilitation he ran 3rd in a Cranbourne barrier trial on Feb 7th 2022 but pulled up sore the next day.

He has a great attitude and would make an ideal stallion for a small farm.

Lloyd does not have much luck with these expensive horses.

That said, these expensive I Am Invincibles are proving just that, expensive.

A horse who set his owners back $1.7 million as a yearling will be sold as a tried horse in next week's Inglis Digital online sale.

Strategy, a four-year-old son of I Am Invincible out of Stakes-winning Snitzel mare Oakleigh Girl, is catalogued as Lot 59 in the sale and currently has a $900 bid ahead of Wednesday's deadline.

Originally purchased by a group of heavy hitters including trainer Lloyd Kennewell, Aquis, Ozzie Kheir and Group 1 Bloodstock at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, the galloper has so far failed to live up to his price tag on the track, with his two wins yielding $66,000 in prizemoney and a rating of 61.

Shares in Strategy had previously been offered via Inglis Digital last May, after the horse was gelded.

Other highlights in the current Inglis Digital catalogue include last-start Sydney winner Kinghsier, Lindsey Smith's untapped four-year-old Money For Old Rope and well-bred gelding Yulong Code, who won at Pakenham on Thursday night.

Bill Boulder a possible runner in the 2YO race on Saturday at the Valley.

Would be the first starter for Boulder City, unraced $2.3m yearling half-bro to Winx. I believe injury and not lack of talent ended his racing career before it started though.

Funnily enough he stands at the same stud as Prince Of Caviar who if he was sold at auction would no doubt be on this list.

What Are They Really Worth – Inglis Digital

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday January 18

The recent Inglis Digital January (early) online sale featured a significant clean out of geldings from the Chris Waller stable presenting a golden opportunity for other trainers to buy fully educated blue--bloods with plenty of racing still in them albeit not at a stakes level.

Captivare was the most expensive I Am Invincible colt sold in 2019.

Captivare was the most expensive I Am Invincible colt sold in 2019.

A $1.4million Inglis Easter purchase in 2019, four year-old I Am Invincible gelding Captivare was bought by Steven O’Dea Racing for $80,000 so will do his future racing in Brisbane. A lone win and seven placings from 15 starts has netted $75,000 and change, which he can no doubt improve on in easier grade.

A $1.1million Magic Millions purchase, three year-old Exceed and Excel gelding Wizard of Oz sold for $50,000 to Jack Colley, while $900,000 2020 Karaka sale-topper Postulate (Pierro) sold for $16,000 to Hiwi Lodge.

$500,000 Magic Millions purchase Rhythmboat (Exceed and Excel) was bought by Luke and Natalie Jarvis for $37,500, $500,000 Inglis Easter purchase Turgenev (I Am Invincible) was bought by D Templeton for $25,000 and $600,000 Inglis Easter purchase Zudin( Redoute’s Choice) was bought by Lauri Wray Racing for $42,500.
