Gutsy run, awful ride to be three wide without cover throughout from barrier six.

Hello, haven't posted for awhile.
We no longer have Solar Lady in the stable but she is going great guns in Queensland and been well placed in her races.

Our new mare is Mary's Girl we bought last February. She has had two starts for us and was unlucky on both occasions but had a second all the same, she races tomorrow at Grafton in a maiden over 1700m. Copping 59kg but she is large enough to carry it.

Our Stable darling I'll Miss You ran a good third in the Lismore Cup last Thursday, she was well over the odds so we got a bit extra than the purse for third!!

Take care all..

Well it's been a bloody long time away from Australia but I'm back finally. I haven't had too much luck with Wheatsheaf Flyer's passing and we then had a nice Sebring filly die as well.

I have bought into THE CARD PLAYERS as I quite like Excellent Art's bloodline. We saw her at headquarters in August when we were considering buying in and she was 100-1 pop in a BM70 and actually ran really well to go down less than 2L from memory.
She had no luck in a recent 1400m race in Adelaide with young Riordan riding against orders unfortunately yet she still found the line really well.
Think she'll be a good money spinner and a win is not far off.

r6 avondale - blue breeze first up since a swimming race at rotorua in may, and 2 strong wins before that

he maps nicely from the ace will get 3 back on the rail in a field scr down to only 7

9yo rich billie gate 3 will lead on a perfect dead 4, untamed2 who hasn’t raced for 300 days will chase and both should be vulnerable last 200m if they haven’t got too far away or probably more so if they have

all roads4 will possie up out side us and possibly even slightly ahead, resurrect7 widest will find it a bit quick and drop out the back following the fav living on a prayer5 with ronchi6 having his first start outside it

sammy will have to find a clear lane to slide past the two leaders as they come back in the straight and so make sure she forces allroads4  wide at the corner flushing out the swooping living5, ronchi6 and res7

mr breeze  has the best overall performance R&S rating and it will just depend on how well he comes home compared to these, the first uppers have a fitness disadvantage but we are well forward, clean winded, fit and fresh and he’s pretty keen to be back into racing

I’ve bet him early at 37/1 TAB, and 51/1 powered up with OZ bookie and face 42% deductions after the fav and one other 9yo scr bringing the odds back to 21 and 30

he’s 20% chance to win, 40% chance to get second and 60% chance to get 3rd, 80% chance to beat billie3,  res7 and ronchi6 and get 4th

There is a good option on sportsbet leaving the fav Livin out and you can get $14

a year ago, without a trial he was 9lens last over 1400 against a field of good maidens after missing the jump from widest

Its another of those years where this race is either very open or a slaughter for an import. Thank god for my Excelida get out place bet at $12.00 on Derby day

Much better run today. Not sure why $26 but tried hard, the fav just had a little too much break but to go down 1/2 length was excellent. I'm happy with $5.60 the place Wink
Better for futher and a win's not too far away.

The difference a half decent jockey makes is so underestimated... giddy up!

Another promising run yesterday at the rat.

3rd and really did look the winner but horse is its own worst enemy. Bit of a nutcase really... Still, signs are positive and a win shouldn't be too far away...

Mrs Shaw has bought herself a horse.
She goes to Benalla on Monday.
French Fizz is her name, she’ll run well.

As of this morning we've officially retired Hopfgarten.  He got a knock to the tendon which caused some damage.  Given his age we've decided to call it a day on his racing career.  We sure had plenty of fun with him.
