There would have to be little debate, that this guy will only improve in time with the results his getting now.
Has to be outstanding value.
I put Good Journey and Mossman as among the best priced horses at stud this season.
They just keep getting the winners.
But IMOP Good Journey has a very bright future.
If you have never failed than you have never tried.

You may be right, he may have a bright future. The only thing he has in common with Mossman is his price. They are at different spectrums of their careers.

I would suggest Good Journey should be priced under 10k to attract mares from Vic to him.
Now having passed 1000 posts I feel you are all so much the wiser for my having said... stuff!

He stands for $7500 in USA.

He averaged $11000 in 09 for yearlings. What's coming along to keep that price up ?

His stud performance isn't better than Denon's (stands @$6000)

It could be cheaper to buy either his yearlings or mares' infoal to him

lets try again....
I think his oldest lindsay park progeny are only what 2??? having stood privately prior to that I think he is a bit harder to judge than other stallions at this point in their careers. I'd like to give him maybe anotheryear before judging

Has 5, 4, 3 and 2yo's running for him, though not many after 23, 39, 30 and 16 live foals respectively.

2006/7      2 winners from 4 starters
2007/8    11 winners from 32 starters  1 Gp 1 winner, 1 Gp 2 winner
2008/9      8 winners from 32 starters
2009/10  22 winners from 44 starters
It's hard to soar with eagles...

Cheers

2014-15 Australian leading sires by stakes winner ratio
Darryl Sherer - Thursday, 2 July 2015

Prizemoney is something of a blunt instrument to measure a stallions performance, those with big numbers of offspring tending to occupy the top places through weight of numbers.

Looking at quality as opposed to quantity, we have compiled a table of the top 10 stallions in Australia with 50 runners or more this season, ranked by ratio of stakes winners to runners.

Dubawi leads the way with seven stakes winners, headed by Group I winning females Srikandi and Shamal Wind and Group II winning sprinters Catkins, Tiger Tees and Ball Of Muscle.

Dubawi spent his last season at Darley Australia in 2009, his three years yielding 234 live foals. He is now a permanent resident at Dalham Hall Stud in England at a fee of £125,000

His former barnmate Street Cry is second with 11 stakes winners, notably dual Group I winner Pride Of Dubai and Queensland Oaks winner Winx.

Cornerstone Stud-based Good Journey strikes a blow for stallions standing below $10,000.

Happy Trails leads the way for the rising 19-year-old however his five other winners at stakes level include the Group III winning mare Griante and Listed winning stayer Crafty Cruiser.

Redoute’s Choice continues to provide quantity and quality and his son Snitzel is continuing in the same theme.

Redoute’s Choice has Group I winners Lankan Rupee, Hampton Court (to stand at Spendthrift Stud this season) and Bonaria as his banner horses while Snitzel is matching his sire with three winners at the highest level - Wandjina, Sweet Idea and Hot Snitzel.

The figures below cover racing in Australia including Arion results to July 1.

Outstanding figures for Good Journey. Probably flies under the radar. Happy Trails a star just needs a few headliners. His other stakeswinners are workmanlike for want of a better word. I was hoping Lord Aspen might take the next step.

Griante by Good Journey wins the Group 1 Galaxy.
Good Journey last year was leading sire of stakes winners to runners ahead of Fastnet Rock etc. Now with another Group 1 horse. Amazing results. What would his results be like if he had similiar books of mares to the top stallions. And a stud fee is only $8,800 i think.

He's 23 now and believe he'll only serve David Brideoake's own mares.

He is 23 and maybe he will serve others. What’s the match like?
