Who really cares?

I have seen the pieces in the Sydney newspapers and all it is is drumming up publicity for his book, and you either know him and would be interested in the book or you could not care less.

For the record I will get the book but I mean we know all about the Waterhouses defence during the Fine Cotton affair, and his big duels with all the big punters.

The only new thing I found out was that Big Kerry welched on a bet. It just goes to show we all do stupid things in our younger days.

Is there any evidence that he had anything to do with Fine Cotton?

They could only get them for prior knowledge.

Yeah prior knowledge.

If that was the case then everyone at Warwick Farm that day needed to be disqualified because it was not a secret, at least that is what I have been told.

Except the mugs at the Farm, following the money, hadn’t sent people to every meeting in the country, loaded with cash.....

Am absolutely gobsmacked after opening the link.  Shocked

Not about Bill W so much, but rather the unlikely if not amazing fact that Baghdad Bob has ever watched let alone approved of a Four Corners show on the ABC.  ShockedBig smileThumbs Up

LOLLOL @ SC

Pretty amazing report if true, constant allegations over decades yet Waterhouse continued on basically unaffected.

I always thought Wran looked slick and shifty, just my opinion

SC, I was a lot younger then and a bit naive about the ABC, but if I remember correctly Tony Jones , yes that lefty of today, who ran that report was sued by the Waterhouse’s.

You were naive back then Bob? Who would've guessed. Shocked

ps action by the Waterhouse family was summarily thrown out of Court, with costs awarded accordingly.Wink

I would suggest it is Bob's views that have changed not those of Tony Jones

Just watched that doco - never seen it before. Love the way they were milking the solicitor in their Casino - absolutely sick on the punt - but nothing much changes. Didn’t Packer just take the same gimmick to a much higher level - both in China & at Crown locally. And Wran as Waterhouse’s go to legal advisor - & then he’s running NSW. And then he leaves the job all of a sudden. Deary me - some very smelly stuff in that lot

Back in those days we only had five television channels ( ABC,7,9, SBS and 10 ). 7 and 9 had crappy american "serials " at 8,30, 10 had game shows like Blankety Blanks  and SBS half the time had programs on subjects that were of no interest to me, ( cooking recipes  in Bolivia etc )  so the only alternative was the ABC.

You didn’t consider getting off your beanbag and doing something else? That’s what most normal people would do if there was nothing they were interested in watching.

Not at 8.30 that night after a long day, I needed to relax with a glass of Grange and chill out watching that program. At that time (1986 )  the Waterhouse name was of great interest to me because of my involvement in racing. If it had been a program on the water birds in the Murrumbidgee River I would not have watched.

My memory is fading, of course I watched Dad's Army, I must admit I did watch comedy on the ABC.
