Have crossed swords with Ilala in the past, however it's high time for a plug.  And not just because he's a long-term sponsor of the Village (see his site at the top of the home page).

He takes a real punt with stallions, and if recent patronage is any yardstick isn't imo being sufficiently rewarded by numbers.  Which is a real pity as there's at least three there that I'd certainly be using were we a lot closer to the Hunter.

Many of us here are mainly breed to race people, give or take the primary mare(s) in our paddock, and that's where I believe Ilala offers some huge value.

From what I gather from the website it's $1,100 a pop for nearly all the stallion roster which includes ones I fancy like Classic Endeavor (durable stakes-winner of 16 races) and Grand Reve (stakes-winning Star Kingdom line stallion) amongst others.

However given no-one here likes being told how to suck eggs, would certainly invite opinions from those who might not necessarily agree that the stallion line-up and fees represent excellent value for breeder/racers.

It's hard to soar with eagles...

Cheers

Brilliant value particularly Classic Endeavour

Durability is Highly Heritable.
Racing Ability is Lowly Heritable.

Racing times in Australia have hardly changed in 100 years, BUT they used to race 60 times as a matter of course.

We haven't got many stallions capable of doing this because only 3% of racehorses race more than 30 times.
