There have been several.
The most famous multiples have been Valens, Bopper and Holly in 1959 (the day the music died) and the 1977 crash that killed Ronnie Van Zant and Steve Gaines of Lynyrd Skynyrd, along with backup singer Cassie Gaines (Steve's older sister), with other band members (Collins, Rossington, Wilkeson, Powell, Pyle, and Hawkins), tour manager Ron Eckerman,[27] and several road crew suffered serious injuries.
Then there was John Denver, Patsy Cline, Ricky Nelson, Otis Redding and band, Will Rogers, Stevie Ray Vaughan and the great Jim Croce who all died in individual aeroplane accidents. No a bad bill.

Anyone heard this before ??? I grew up with my Mother singing this song, and I thought it was long lost to me, then here it pops up out of the blue when I was watching another thing entirely. Edited by Gay3 - 28 Aug 2019 at 6:01pm |

Michael Martin Murphey is better known for the 1974 hit 'Wildfire' about the pony lost in the blizzard. But you already knew that....

Well, we think he died in a plane crash over the English Channel en route to Paris in December 1944 but nothing was ever found of the plane or its occupants.
There were some wacky conspiracy theories at the time but none stood scrutiny.

Footage is from The Film "The Trip "(1967) a counterculture-era cult film released by American International Pictures, directed by Roger Corman, written by Jack Nicholson, and shot on location in and around Los Angeles, including on top of Kirkwood in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood Hills, and near Big Sur, California in 1967. Peter Fonda stars as a young television commercial director, Paul Groves.
The Trip was the precursor to Easy Rider.
