I have no problem the ATO investigating the Churches books. I'm just surprised someone (from the ATO I presume) would be saying as much.

It could be incorrect. I am just quoting the article you posted from Fox quoting the Telegraph.

Pray quietly in the corner and dont post abuse online that brings grief to your employer and your employers sponsors.....pretty simple.

Something like you can express your religious views as long as it doesn't upset "anyone". And if it has the potential to upset "anyone" you are allowed to wisper it anywhere you like as long as no one is close enough to hear it. Cant get much fairer than that.

Why would a normal person want to upset someone who is minding their own business, doing something perfectly legal in the privacy of their own home?

Sounds like a control freak. How much does he think about what people are doing? Sounds like he needs help.

Your not serious are you PT. How is he any worse than the stuff we all say on here on a daily basis to upset each other ? The only difference is that he says it with good intentions (as he perceives it) & bases it on biblical text- unlike most of us who talk out of our clacker & hope to maim. In both cases - if those that are offended are silly enough to log onto TBV OR his private social media sites then they cant complain achieving that outcome. Precious to the extreme. Society needs to lighten up a take a giant step from the left to the middle on stuff like this.

Does an employer have the right to protect his brand from his employees who choose to trash it through actions of choice?

The NRL last week had a favorable ruling in the federal court on that very question.

Again PT you somehow see it reasonable to equate religious expression to rape. He is bypassing the second hearing - he cannot win that on the terms of reference they are applying (breach of code of conduct). He will instead be going to a much higher court (hopefully) & go back a few steps to argue that a work contract should not restrict his religious expression in the first place.

No oneone, I am equating an employers right to protect his brand with an employers right to protect his brand.

He will go either to the NSW Supreme Court or a federal court, both pathways to the High Court. The same federal court that ruled on the NRL's right to protect it's brand.

Ok - however he will be arguing constitutional protection from religious expression restriction. Not sure sexual violence could claim the same.

This was fought out all wrong by de Belin.

His Union should have taken the case to the Industrial Relations Commission, The NRL has a EBA that says players can be stood down for 18 weeks covering the no fault clause.

IRC would have knocked the NRL out of the ball park. If they wanted to change the rules the NRL would have had to fight it in court,

Now de Belin is up for $1/2 a million in court costs.

Monumental kiss up by the Players association too proud to call themselves a Union.

The crime is irrelevant. It could be sexual assault, or aggravated robbery, racial or sexual vilification or car theft. You get your contract ripped up regardless of what it is

I just love the way how some people set themselves up as the arbiter of all comment. Then move to hippyville away from "normal" people. Got it

Yes you do.

Interesting every time I come back to the computer there is a new post in this thread from you, in danger of surpassing Doc's obsession with Gai Ouch

Simple answer Whale - don't come back to the computer.Or if you cant do that - just don't click on the Folau thread - you wont get upset then . I'd give the some advice to others as well - if you think Izzy's social media posts might offend don't visit. Easy as 1,2,3.

Question - for what reason would a Gay person visit Izzys social media pages ? Seriously, would they not know he was high risk to offend based on his history ?Have you seen the stuff he has been posting for years ? Are they masochists or something - or maybe just want to make an issue out of it for the sake of it ?

It was front page news. Should gay people avoid all media to not risk a chance encounter with Izzy's deranged religious(claimed) rants?
