I issued a personal opinion of two very dangerous areas for FIRE a couple of months ago .
The Blue Mountains and the inland Hunter , Putty area.

Having owned Property at both and being aware of the recent times of rapid growth and failure to "burn off " or prepare.

Both areas have gone off big time this week with the Mount Canobolas Fires, Orange and today the areas, surrounding and including Putty NSW.
Makes one wonder why , such areas are allowed to reach these dangerous stages.

Because the Pitt Street Greenies wont allow burning and clearing of these areas in the cool times.  They have closed the fire trails and sold off the heavy equipment the NPs had .   They cant see the forest for the trees. Now it will all burn, in spite of the greenies crys to protect it.  And the native animals and birds with it.
That one in Singleton/Putty is bad and if it gets right away from them there will be no stopping it.
What do they expect when the under growth is knee deep in dead leaves and timber ?   Only takes one spark, be it from a nutter or a lightening strike.
animals before people.

Years ago my grandmother had 6000 acres at Putty ... one house.
Today with break up to smaller lots from 5 acres 100 acres.   A lot of people have moved into those forest like areas.
I've been fearing a disaster there , for the reason of the numbers now in residence and if they aren't careful ,    big numbers will fry.

AND one road in or out.

The Putty fire has burned near 8 thousand hectares now, and the firies say it could burn for another month.
Its the native animals who will fry in that country.  Some of it is too rugged to even attempt to get into.
The country now is shocking.  Old timers say its never been this bad since the drought of the mid 60ies.  The dam here is down to 45% and still fools continue to water their lawns, while the country is like a desert and farmers are unable to feed the stock.  Even if it rains soon it may fill the dams but there will be no feed for winter and none coming into next summer.
