My understanding is he will either run at Sandown or Perth.
Not both.

Apparently he needs to win at Sandown to be any chance of getting into the Railway.

Hopefully they forget the Railway and go over for the Kingston Town or whatever it is called these days.

I’m assuming the target race at Sandown is the G3 Sandown Stks (1500m)?

But Isn’t the G1 WATC Railway Stakes 1600m then only 7 days after the Sandown meeting?

Seems like a difficult ask to go the other side of the country and race so soon.

If he is going to Perth, I’m sure sanity will prevail and the $1.0m G1 Kingston Town 1800m will be identified as the more suitable race (given its 3 weeks after Sandown).   He could then also run in the G2 CB Cox Stakes 2100m two weeks after that.

Yeah not a freak nowhere near one. Just a good horse.

Freaks are minimum Atlantic Jewel level.

Do be doing this at less than 1600m he is a freak.

He is easily the best horse Weir has trained.

I agree. He is no freak but gee he is good. Hopefully bigger and better things to come
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

He definitely is a freak. To be doing what he does, over an unsuitable trip is freak worthy.

Will be interesting to see what races he is aimed at in the autumn and spring

Although he will be unofficially 4 yo next Feb, imo he will have to grow a little as he will be thrown in the deep end come the Autumn meaning maybe a shot at the Aust. Cup WFA, carried 54 kg today , he will have to spell well.

Reckon a race like the Blamey maybe, then if he’s in good nick up to Sydney. He’s only had eight starts, and he’s settling much better now.

Sorry djebel, but racing him over a trip in slower tempo races early in his career wouldn’t have helped his manners. Weir is aware of his pedigree. I think he knows what he’s doing.

No question he's bred to be a stayer, however horses don't always run according to their breeding. He could just be a miler.

Exactly right, look at Sepoy and Induna, both by Elusive Quality out of full sisters, one wins the Coolmore down the strait on the same day the other was a tragedy besten in the Victoria Derby. Breeding is a guide but not a guarantee of what their range will be.

I know this because I do.

Interestingly his 4th dam Bold Example is the grand dam of 3 super duper milers Polish Precedent, Zilzal and Culture Vulture.

This guy is absolutely top class. He will display that class between 1600 and 2400. He has the stamina to stay 2 miles.

He should never start in a race short of a mile again.
