Sunday's big race comes from France, the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud which was won by Coronet ridden by no other than Lanfranco Dettori. Coronet has been a bit flat, winning only once in 2018 at York and once in 2017 at Royal Ascot in the G2 Ribbondale Stakes. Some of these mares get better as they age so don't be surprised if she continues now to win.

Coronet - retired

... will join the broodmare band at her owner-breeder Faisal Salman's Denford Stud in Hungerford at the end of the season.

Sad to see that Beat The Bank had to be put down after winning the Gp2 Summer Mile at Ascot yesterday. It was obvious something was wrong with his last couple of strides approaching the winning post & the jockey pulled him up as quickly as he could. Beat The Bank was a good quality miler winning 5 Group 2s, a Group 3 and a Listed Race. He was also narrowly beaten in the Gp1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

A two horse war for most of the Ascot straight but in the end Enable just did enough to defeat Crystal Ocean in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes. Great race!

It was a gutsy tough win. What an outstanding mare Enable is. She's a champion.

Hello,
perhaps it's only a "Hoofnote" of the "King George" in England. Waldgeist (who already won the Prix Ganay) ran a noble 3rdplace.

Redoute's Choice won 'posthum' a Group 1 race in Germany with Danceteria. The winner is pretty Close related with "Lope de Vega".

regards, Ticino

Pinatubo extremely impressive winning the Gp2 Vintage Stakes & might well be the best two year old in England. Favourite for the 2020 Two Thousand Guineas.

Stradivarius wins his 3rd consecutive Goodwood Cup from Dee Ex Bee with Cross Counter third. He rarely wins by much but just keeps on winning & it really never looked in doubt.

He is so fast. I am convinced he could win an Arc.

The stayers do not go fast enough to take him out of his comfort zone.

Unfortunately or fortunately his owner is owner is seeing history and wants to stay on the stamina trail.

For me Cross Counter was slightly disappointing. Maybe the ground didn't suit or just not good enough on the day? I thought he'd win as he loves the 3200m and has a better then of foot but the winner Stradivarius was too good.

There probably isn't much in the UK now for Cross Counter...and he probably isn't classy enough for an Arc so I think he should be heading to Melbourne for the Cup.

Cross Counter rightfully is not allowed to run in an Arc.

He should simply be aimed at the Melbourne Cup. He ran well he was simply outclassed.

John Gosden hinted that the owner had thought about the Arc and he also suggested that it may be a possibility but more likely to stay in the long distance races as he is still in line for the £1 million bonus if he wins at York.

Bjorn Nielson (the owner) also suggested he will stay in training next year, if the horse is fit and well, so who knows what they may aim for next year.

Grey Affair-agree re Pinatubo.

Djebel-have you had a look at his breeding? He has classic horse written all over him and should win a few group 1's unless there are better ones hiding somewhere!

A Group One winner for Japan as Deirdre (5m  Harbinger - Reizend, by Special Week) wins the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood defeating Mehdaayih who looked the likely winner halfway down the straight.

Battaash wins his third King George Stakes from Houtzen who ran a very encouraging race for second. She might be a good chance in the Nunthorpe Stakes.

Prince of Arran ran last of 5 runners in the Glorious Stks 2400m at Goodwood, beaten 14.5 lengths.

I suppose his next start will be the Ebor Hcp in a few weeks. How he goes there will probably determine whether he comes to Aust or not for another go at the Melb Cup.
