Before yesterday Bob Peters had said that he was only looking at mares races in the Perth carnival.

After the race yesterday he said he was now thinking of the major races, then east in Autumn if all went well.

Very exciting prospect. WA have had a few 1/2 decent ones, she might be a little better than most.
The $1.45 and $1.25 prices I thought were a bit over the top but she's been doing super. Lets down like a good thing. Hope she stays sound.

I see people were excited by her 7th win from 7th start on the weekend, She is a perfect example of the terrible handicapping or lack of handicapping across the board in Australia.

How she has been allowed to win her first 6 races and not get rated above 90 is just unbelievable, To be rated just 80 is criminal.

Read her form card djebel, she has been placed to perfection , hasn't been thrown from a maiden win into the deep end of a group race like a lot of o/s horses that are then onsold to oz trainers hoping to resurrect their flagging race form , keep yourself in the best company and the horses in the worst, the owner knows what he's doing, it's been going on for a 100 years , smart trainers do it , Anthony has trouble reading the tea leaves.

I do not blame the owner or trainer for one single second, No, It is the stupid system that allows them to take this advantage and does not handicap the filly properly.

Since her maiden she won 2 conditions races and 4 handicaps, The longest price she has been is $1.85.

This is very much an indication that the handicapper has been far too lenient on her.

But the " handicaps" as you called them are restricted to a certain class of horse, so not handicaps but Set weights, he's using the system well imo.

They are handicaps and she has gotten away with blue murder in them. They have not been at all competivie because the handicapper is far too lenient.

Yes the word Handicap used is right , but what I should have stated was she raced in races that she was eligible for without stepping above her actual rating , as she was a 70 rater can she be allotted more weight ( on potential) or carry only what a 70 bm should?

In my opinion she should have had well above a rating of 70 or as on Saturday 80.

When she won her maiden she was entitled to rate 64 rather than 58, It basically all started from there.

At her next start, she'd was entitled to go to about 66+

Basically. without going into detail her career starts ratings would have risen -

62
68
74
80
86
92 which is listed level
98

Now of course if her original rating is more severe the rest of campaigns are slightly different. They are required to push her into her rightful grade, helping WA racing be more competitive.

I heard Felgate interview the Wiz on RSN a week or so back. He nominated this horse as the best thing he's got going right now, basically suggesting they'd need more than a pry bar to get him off.

I then heard Peters interviewed by same a few days ago and a couple things became apparent...

1. Michael is most certainly the +1 to Jacqui.

2. Whether it's Wiz rubbing off on Peters, or Peters rubbing off on Wiz, neither could give a rats tossbag about racing in the Eastern states.... and who could blame them.
