Carioca, got him out of the box yesterday and fell in love
Got a very well r specked judge to give me his thoughts. Agreed that he as exceptional but felt the same as you. Very thick through the neck and was worried he’ would bulk up too much if kept as a stallion.
Gelding probably needed.

I guess the question is, how much do you pay for a stunning looking gelding at a sale like this

800k, your got an expensive taste lol Shrunk in the Wash, good luck to Spendthrift, hope your enjoying yourself out there.

I didn’t look at him but given the page, he must have been wonderful as there, to my untried eye, there are better pedigrees

Yes, way above way my missus would left me spend
Was hoping to approach the buyer for 10% but that’s now out of the question for me.
My other 2 preferences so far have gone for 400k

I knew I was aiming too high but.........

You need an obscene fortune to get into the sprinting market at this sale, but you can still snaffle a staying prospect for reasonable coin. A few nice So You Think's were snapped up by trainers for the low 100k mark.

One i thought especially interesting was Lot 312. By All Too Hard x Quintessential. ATH , the boom has seemingly gone off him but will throw plenty of good racehorses imo.  2nd foal of Quintessential who was a star filly with Redoutes, Zabeel and Nijinsky blood.

Went for 80K. Don't know the guy who bought him, Dylan Barnett Bloodstock.Good luck with him.

Anyone wanna give an opinion on type?. He looks good to me.

He looks like his dad, and also he looks like a decent 1400-1600m horse.  Maybe a shade light of bone in front for my taste, but nothing that would make me give him serious side-eye.

If I owned him, I'd probably send him to join a polo string somewhere in NZ where he would get a lot of work walking and trotting up hills with all the other communists polo ponies.  With that solid Danzig-type body, he'll last longer if he has the back and hind end strength to get into self-carriage/not pull along on the forehand.  Doing hill work on a leadline will strengthen him up and get him used to using his hind end before he has to learn how to balance himself with a rider on board.

lot 312 looks fine. he has made the inglis sales, so one tick! lot of american breeding, plenty of winners.

alt has probably pulled him down, 80k is not going to break the bank and having been aimed for this sale should have received all the goodies, as far as feeding etc goes.

i like his look, slightly short in the leg, squatty type. remember he is a tb yearling colt, not a draft-horse.

Was hoping on pedigree to get 344 for comp around the 300K.  Wasn't special on type but just a pedigree mix I like.  I was dreaming!  Will follow just because of the pedigree mix but not for comp.
