This has been one of the most active earthquake periods in recent years.
In the past week, America was hit with 2 strong quakes.

In Italy, Volcano erupted.

Western Australia was hit with a powerful quake.

Last night, Indonesia was struck with a strong quake.
And just now, Bali was hit with a strong one too.

Whilst quakes are very much part of our earth, its somewhat rare and unusual to have such strong activity in several areas of the globe in one week that are measuring over 5.5 mag.

Stop making underground tunnels like the M4, the cost of using them, $8 one way is causing earthquakes.

There is also quite a bit of other stuff going on, including another volcanic eruption, this one is at the Shiveluch Volcano which is off the Russian coast, and well North of the equator, and much closer to the North Pole.

It was a monster event in any case, 70,000 feet high at these latitudes will cause unbelievable cooling in the Northern Hemisphere in the months to come, it might take a few months to feel the full effect.

You can see it on this map above, right up near Alaska, and continues the trend in the big uptick of volcanic eruptions due to the increase cosmic rays pounding the Earth.

No media reports of course, as this will have a big cooling effect on the planet, and we have barely seen any reports on these volcanic eruptions that have increased in the last few months.

It takes a wise man a lifetime to grow a tree and a fool five minutes to kill one.

Rescue operation underway after volcano erupts off New Zealand’s coast, injuring at least 20 people

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says around 100 people were on or around a volcano when it erupted on Monday.

There are fears for the safety of visitors to New Zealand volcano Whakaari, or White Island, after an eruption on Monday afternoon.

The volcano, located around 40km offshore of the Bay of Plenty, sent huge amounts of white smoke - most likely steam - into the air from around 12:10pm AEDT. more...

I am with Tlaz !   Even the experts wouldnt set foot on the island, and were monitoring it with planes/drones/ and undergound equipment, and here we have boat loads of tourists walking along the rim of an active volcano ?Confused
It all sounds very strange to me.

One thing I've noticed is that in the interviews held on the ship there is a heck of a lot of noise going on. Is that what cruise ships are like - noisy as a shopping centre during school holidays?

It did more damage to her head ..     I knew something would have had to erupted to make that mess on Greta.

Were these people aware the Volcano was angry ????

We were reared with an old Volcano in our back yard so to speak . Played and hunted in it regularly .     Always thought about " what if it became active ".

Yep , we have quite a few old sites that haven't erupted in thousands of years but v there none the less.

Orange Nsw 's ,   Mount Canobolas ( highest peak of the great dividing range ---   Is an old volcano.

Mount Canobolas, a mountain on a spur of the Great Dividing Range, is located in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia. With an elevation of 1,390 metres above sea level, Mount Canobolas, an extinct volcano, is the highest mountain in the region.

Maxie most likely meant to say" Mt Canobols was the highest extinct volcano in Australia ", not the highest mountain.

Of Course AA... ( My bad description )      Kosi holds that title easily , By about 3000 ft. I was repeating the area descriptions .   Another high peak next to Canobolas is The Pinnacle .... Beautiful Place ....   Very Dangerous with snow about if you're not used to the pit falls.

I was still rattled Bob & AA when I wrote that .          . I had just become aware that the people who have lost thier lives in the NZ eruption ,
were allowed near that area , even tho it had been giving rumbling warnings for some weeks .
Surely some heads will roll over that .

Yeah, Canobolas can be spectacular.  I have flown over it in a 6 seater when it had snow on top.
02, Carioca ?   I reckon we might have been round about then.
Yes Macca,  its amazing people were allowed on that island when all the experts said it was due to bust.
Those poor people.    The survivors burns must be horrendous.

I was Born in Orange NSW and left aged 31.

The thrill of driving up the mountain with snow about , wasn't funny when the wheels started spinning from no grip and the car started slipping backwards .
Makes one shudder, re living some of the stupid things we did in early days.
