Anyone else having a bet tonight? A couple of Aussies engaged. I'll be taking some multis and win bets on the following for an interest -

Economic Model
Dal Harraild
Mendelssohn
Librisia Breeze
Roy H
Neorealism
Rey De Oro
West Coast

Good luck if you're having a bet on this top class card.

Question....where does the Group 2 Dubai Gold Cup at 3200m rate in terms of the best 3200m races in the world. Obviously its not a Group 1 so in terms of that its not top shelf but the race seems to attract handy stayers. How does the Dubai Gold Cup compare with the Melbourne Cup?

Very impressive from the Dubai Gold Cup winner. And its three consecutive Dubai Gold Cups in a row....this horse loves the 3200m.Plus it broke the track record for 3200m too.

I reckon it wont be long until the race is upgraded to Group 1 status.

But that winner....it had gears and broke the yrack record too for 3200m and won that race for the thurd consecutive year. A shame it probably wont come for the Melbourne Cup....might get too much weight.

Officially an 18.5 length win and a new race record.

Blew them away and it will great to have him in the Kentucky Derby.

Has US experience with his Breeder's Cup Juvenile Turf at Delmar in November so travelling to Louisville will not be beyond him. Except he could also blow the turf opposition in England as well.

I can never understand the mentality of the punters that back the Aussie horses on the tote. They always go around at massive unders. Tonight will be no exception. You can get 50's fixed about Illustrious Lad with bet365. On our totes it will probably start at under $10. The Hayes horse will be the same.

I might be an average punter but when l see idiots bet this way it makes me feel slightly better about myself. Could be worse.

Thunder Show redeems his Kentucky Derby abort with an outstanding 5 length victory in the World Cup. Will he comeback to the US?

Does anyone know what Mendelssohn will get in terms of a rating for the 18.5 length win?

Also what about Thunder Show...what rating will be awarded after the 5 length win in the Dubai World Cup?

Racing Post gave him a rating of 122.

I have not seen Timeforms figure yet.

If Greg Carpenter was rating the race considering the 2nd and 3rd horses are 104 horses and the rest of the field were between 101 and 113 he would argue that winning by 18.75 lengths he has rated about 145.
