Did the same thing as Mal last year.

The jockeys just don't want to take off and chase.

Here we go, the whinging starts early

Get over it, the best horse won, made all the running, facing the breeze and brained them

Get used to him, Denman, Trusting and More Joyous making a mess of the Group 1's for some time to come

lol it was a fair win but I hate seeing that happen in G1s.

The rest thought he would weaken but he didn't.

Track was bone dry might have something to do with the time.

Still hard to knock the win after seeing the gap on the replay. Want to see the sectionals now.

Fantastic ride, briliant strategy

No weight, put the horse out front, and let the heavy weights try to catch me.
Very well thought out.
They didnt rely on brilliance. Another good strategy won this.
Its called a team effort and the best team is so often BART.

Interesting that he was beaten by Starspangledbanner doing to him in the guineas what he has done to them there.

Jockeys need big race pace training lol

Where was Rock Kingdom?

Don't tell me Nash backed off and stuffed it like he did last year on Theseo. What a tool.

Rock Kingdom missed the kick - changed the whole race.

Awesome ride. I am not a Bossy fan but that was outstanding.

Brooke, he's a High Chaperral, the horse is a stayer who was performing at the lesser distances because of pure class.

Even allowing for the fact this wasn't a vintage field, for him to beat them like that with contempt was just incredible. If this horse stays sound he will be a champion stayer, with the potential to replicate the likes of Saintly and Might and Power.

The key is going to be soundness. Sadly the really great horses seem to always run into issues with tendons but let's hope this bloke is the exception.

Tactically perfect ride by bossy, that bunch of horses giving him the best part of 10 kilos and making it a try test over the 2000m. THat ride is exactly what i thought he would and should have done last year on Samantha Miss, if he had have done i reckon they would have been identical scenarios and results

What abouts barts decision after he won in sydney over 1600 then decided to ease up on him and run in the guineas into the cox, i heard alot of talkback say that he had the spring champion at his mercy but bart avoided it in preference for the path he has taken. UNBELIEVABLE

I think when Sir Slick was scratched, Bart would have said, "Boss, take him to the front, no weight, and let them try to catch us".  They had every intention to lead.  It was a great ride, great plan and the horse was great enough to complete it.

I want pacemakers for future Cox plates.

The leader is set to win 3 years in a row now.

Bart doesnt like his horses in front - never has.  If you watch Boss waits past the post for the two inside him to kick up and they dont.  He didn't want the other 3yo to cross so took the lead - however he got the horses travelling within himself along the back and had plenty when he went for him.  The others like last year sat back and gave themselves no chance - I dont back Oliver in Cox Plates as he has a habit of doing just that - ONly I think Vision and Power and Scenic Shot took off early to try and give themselves a chance but were not up to it in the end.  Manhatten Rain was second so both 3yos were ridden to give themselves the best chance and thats how it worked out.  Cox Plate is no longer a race where you sit back and storm home - hasn't worked for a number of years now.

Both said they had no plans at all, let alone lead.

Sportsbet had $1.95 if they ran faster than 2.06 or $1.75 if they ran slower. After the first race the choice was easy.
