An interesting article about the fall of some sire lines here in the US....

The Sire list is as such:

Sunday Silence
Alydar
Blushing Groom
Wild Again
Ribot
Domino

As Sunday Silence stood in Japan I wouldn't expect his line to flourish in the USA.  You never know some sire failure might just get a sire son.  Hard to do in this one season or your gone market but it can happen.  That is the only way our Star Kingdom sireline will come back.

It is not a new phenomena sire lines are constantly dying out.

I suppose a lot depends on what you consider sire lines to be.  Sunday Silence, Alydar and Wild Again are all direct male line descendants of Phalaris, just like Northern Dancer and all of his descendants.
