2400m was probably the more helpful change.

Definitely a promising win by this horse.
This horse appears to be one of many that is owned by a big bunch of owners who seem to have formed a consortium with Williams to buy staying bird horses from overseas.

eg. Goathland, Morning Mix, Aloft, Hans Holbein, etc.

I wonder what the story behind this is?

CROCODILE ROCK BACK TO SANDOWN
Punters who were disappointed that Crocodile Rock was scratched from Caulfield yesterday should expect the Robert Hickmott trained stayer to run at Sandown on Wednesday week.

Co-owner Nick Williams said there was no major issue with the lightly raced son of Galileo but the stable would prefer to keep him in midweek company for another start.

He’s back on Saturday. It’ll great to see how he returns.
Why’s he been out for so long?

If he can not win a stakes race in the next twelve months, I am dealing with half a deck.

Andrew Ramsden, Adelaide Cup, Bagot etc look his level, even the Lavazza on cup day would look okay depending on where he is at fitness wise.

He is exactly the type of galloper that you do not need to spell. Would make a good horse to learn how to train stayers the European way with.
Remember, it might take intelligence to be smart , but it takes experience to be wise

I thought he was top class after his first run here.

I actually don't think he stays. He doesn't run 2500 in my book. Not a strong one anyway. I think his best go is around 2000.

I think he's been overrated by many right from arriving in Australia. He's only won two BM70s. This prep he hasn't come up at all which no doubt prompted the sale.

Well this guys crack at a Cup may well be the Hobart & Launceston Cups this summer.

Racing Aust website has him now trained by Scott Brunton is Tassie.

So long as there’s no lingering injury issues, they sound like good races for his level of ability.

The only thing going for him is the fact the track is a heavy 8. Unless they are serious slowcoaches in this field he will struggle to keep up.
