What do people know about this exchange?  What commissions do they charge?  Does it work similar to Betfair?

Do they offer fixed odds like bookmakers, or just an exchange like Betfair?

Thanks, I did. I'll stick to Betty.

Although, can we lay HK on this thing? That has me interested.

I have also tried looking into Citibet. Has anyone ever used it? the pools would be absolute massive if similar setup to Betfair.

Are you paying a one-off agent's fee just to start up an account or on every bet you make?

I've not used it, but one advantage is the commission charged through the agent looks to be less than what Betfair charges, although I realise the fee structure is entirely different.  One reason for this may be because they are not paying a product fee.

Is it even legal for Australians to bet into a foreign betting exchange?

I am not sure but I wouldn't blame anyone for doing so from Australia when the authorities here will not lift a finger to help punters. If you can't get a bet on what are you supposed to do just shrug your shoulders and go bet on the tote? No thanks.

I'm not convinced they are not the same exchange.  One or both may be agents.

ABE = Citibet.

Fairly certain it's just The OddsBroker.

Comm is on t/over on a per bet basis.

Agent could set you on 10% (why would he, you'd never bet) or less than 1% (wholly dependant on players' t/over).

That one seems to sign up customers on line, if you are so inclined. I don't know what the legalities are, but I can't imagine it being any different to betting with Vanuatu operators.

Let me get this straight.  You are an agent for CitiBet?  ABE is also an agent for CitiBet?

You can choose to get paid VIC TAB or NSW TAB odds.

You haggle over two things, discount/rebate (you can pay as low as 3.80 for a $5 ticket or as high as face value $5, most business is done around the 12-20% mark) and payout cap (you can cap your div, ie something's short early and you know it will blow out, you can offer an attractive discount but cap the div and get business that way)

Most lucratively, in running on trots/dogs is covered. Pay $6 for a $5 ticket (1.20) and bet in running until the home turn. Back and Lay at tote odds. Money can't find its way into the pool post-jump.

I and many others had BF accounts pre-(AUS)licensing in 2006.

Pretty sure Betdaq was OK as well.

Betfair is blocked in Asia ?

"Betfair is bound by shareholder agreements to operate in markets where its betting exchanges are completely legal. This is not a long list and not one that is growing fast, either. As a result, Betfair cannot establish a presence in Asia, the biggest betting market in the world. Without access to the Asian market, Betfair cannot achieve the international expansion that it highlighted for future growth."

If Betfair only operates on markets in juridictions where exchange betting is legal, and is consequently frozen out of Asia, as the excerpt from Betfair-s-bad-bet/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.pokerupdate.com/poker-opinion/Betfair-s-bad-bet/
suggests, how legal are the exchange(s) under discussion ?

To my knowledge Citi is fully-licensed and legal in Philippines.

Offices in Manila, I think.

No question is a silly one IMO.

I'm simply here to answer questions.

I'm trying to keep it pretty black/white or cut and dried so as to not transgress Ts and Cs-wise of the forum.
