Why would you start a petition to legalise something that isn't illegal now?

At least the petition is to stop advancement of the cause. They come for a better life but want to drag along their barbaric customs 
I don't mind who eats what as long as they're humanely reared & slaughtered, something very foreign to Asian producers & vendors of animals.
