Cleaned up on this little bloke today - what a win. Let's keep it in perspective - it was an ordinary Class 1 & Maiden at Mudgee, but he gave them a big start and a thrashing, and he repeated what he did on debut at the provincials.

I think he's a rough as guts Derby chance and have taken the $81/$21 with Crown for an interest. Will be happy enough if he makes it to the race. Bjorn did something similar with Impavido, who went from a big maiden win at the provincials to running 4th in the Randwick Guineas, 6th in the Rosehill Guineas and down the track in the Derby. I'm thinking this one is up to something like that potentially if he keeps improving.

Djebel - would you mind posting his pedigree when you get a sec? He's by Bullet Train who I'm pretty sure is Frankel's brother?

He's back in the last at Kembla today and I think he's a very fair price at $3.10.

He will get back but it isn't a massive field. The biggest query is the rail is out 9m, which can make it tougher to make ground. But otherwise he looks the most progressive here.

They've come out of the trees to back the Godolphin filly Flying - by Reset ex the Thousand Guineas winner All Time High - and I can't really understand why. She won well last start, overcoming interference, but that was a mile maiden and she had chances to break through beforehand. Although she goes from provincial to country, she goes from maiden to BM61 and goes up a whopping 4.5kg - that's a fair whack for a 3yo filly stepping out of maiden grade for the first time.

In contrast, Bulletson goes from country to provincial, however he was unlucky when about to run into the race at Kembla two starts ago. He only goes up 2.5kg and is going from class 1 to BM61. I feel he's treated better here - aided by the 1.5kg claim of the in form Jean Claude Van Damme. The toppie surely has too much weight and is a bit unreliable. Happy to risk him.

Keen to bet up. I'm told he could be on his way to Hong Kong soon so they're surely looking to increase the value.

Note: I wrote above that Flying goes from provincial to country, which obviously isn't correct. She stays at provincial and I got my head jumbled with Bulletson going from country to provincial.

Good finishers coming down the middle of the track are dominating. Augurs well for this fella.

I kept waiting to hear the broadcaster call Bulletson down the outside but today wasn't the day.
They're not machines, he'll get another chance.

Whatever was wrong someone knew it before the jump .   He was uneasy right through betting .
A far cry from the dominant lead up win.

The maidens broke 58 for the 1000m and Dissolute got home in 33.3 so the track wasn't too bad. ( Patchy Maybe ).
