Yes, I know that's easy to say after the event. Wink

Lame in the near foreleg.

Long road back to the track, has basically had niggles since Day 1 of his career but has such a zest for racing the decision was made to put him back into work. Hasn't shown much in trials but they've been on rain affected tracks which he doesn't appreciate.

There was very little interest in him as a stallion prospect, despite being a Group 1 1400 metre winner out of a horse who won the same 1400 metre Group 1 race. Apparently sons of Bon Hoffa aren't highly sought after at stud despite the recent performances of Bons Away, Bon Amis, Don't Give a Damn etc.

Hopefully it's nothing too serious. Couldn't find a nicer guy to deal with than Ken King.

Sadly theirs just no value in his pedigree for him to be a commercial stallion. Maybe a small farm somewhere once he's finished up but if he's still sound and interested theirs more value in racing him currently.

He looks fantastic walking around the parade, would suit a show career if all else fails.

Looks like the end of the road.

My dear old mum has shares in the horse and he has given her and Dad a lot of thrills in their twilight years. Due to ill health they couldn't head across for the Rupert Clarke, probably just as well, but it's been great to see the joy they've got out of Bon.

Hoping he has a long and happy retirement.

Thanks for the update Balciano.
Hope you can find a nice home for him at stud.
If not, he would make a fabulous show pony.
He looked fantastic on the weekend. Was my pick of the yard.
