Hi Big Al,

Do you know what the stats are on faves running a place at

1000
1200
1300
1400
1600
2000
2400

?

Just wondering if there is a large hit ratio difference.

Also curious, do forum members prefer ti back a short priced fave to place?
Or Lay a short priced fave to lose a race?

Thanks Max,

Geepez, when I quickly read the first line of your post, I thought it said Big Al passed away.

Interesting stats Max. Thank you

Just finding it fascinating, when I do multi's, even 10 leg multis, I hit them way more often when I back short faves to place, rather than lay the fave to lose a race.

Im pretty fussy which faves I choose to run a place, I like them very short, even at just $1.14 to place.
Multi them up in 2 to 5 legs, can get them quite often, and come unstuck much less than laying the faves.

All I know is, my balance is going up, doing short fave place multi's.
Of course you miss them sometimes, but my balance is still going up overall.

Bigal hopefully well ! You can compare Betfair SP place odds here, what the average % improvement on TAB odds on faves would be, you would have to run a test on to find our, and allowing for commission, but at least they are not rounded down to the nearest 10c, so there is several % points gained there immediately:

Well in case you pop in again before Christmas Allan, I hope you & your family have a super one with all staying safe, if over indulging occasionally Hug
Experience is something you gain a few minutes after you could have used it!
