Beauty Generation broke the track record earlier at Sha Tin - was a great example of a champion capable of making two runs in a race. Huge performance.

Hard to believe this is the horse we knew as Montaigne, who ran 2nd to Tarzino in the Rosehill Guineas and then ran 4th in the BMW when trained by Anthony Cummings.

A star, and looks on track to win the HK Mile again. Would love to see them bring him here for the George Ryder!

Agree!

He was "just about" under Trenbolone Tony, but "superstar" under John Moore in Honkers.

No surprises there.

For a minute I thought you had ignored Bryce Stanaway. Quickly realised that he is a Kiwi. As you were.

Its funny how when a lesser performed English horse like Hartnell comes out here and starts winning Group Ones it's because our racing is weak. But when our lesser performed horses go to Hong Kong and become superstars it's because their trainers are geniuses . We're a weird mob!

I see Edward is going out on his own from dad in the new year.

I wonder if Anthony is retiring soon? Roaming around breeding properties, searching for yearlings might be his future?

Had shown enormous promise before he left our shores , anyone prepared to look at his performances would realise with natural 3yo to 4yo improvement John Moore had a real platform to work with, he had beaten Jameka home in the Rosehill GNS.

I agree. I remember him racing and I was really looking forward to his next preparation. It was very disappointing when he was sold OS. I wasn't having a go at the horse at all in my comment!

Like all your posts Baguette I find makes sense , I didn't read anything into it , more so the accolades heaped on J Moore , imo he finished with a very promising horse , his gain, our loss, I said the same when that black 3yo was sold to honkers 6 months ago, we keep losing these promising young horses which we so richly need .

He may be the best on the planet, but there's a better one under the planet that he'll never match.

Frankel like win.

Would have towed Winx.

What the hell was Waller thinking bringing over Passing Trough? So embarrassing.

I would imagine the owner of Comin' Through instructed Waller to take the horse to Hong Kong.

He was a good horse in Australia, but wouldn't see which way Winx went.

With the increase of Asian buyers money, he is the symbol of what will continue to happen now.

If Might And Power had of been running now instead of exactly twenty years ago, his 3yo Sydney autumn form would have seen him, come in for some high offers, although being a gelding would have lowered his value a touch.

Also it is the same as it is with the internationals who come out here for the Melbourne Cup, it is not always the best horse who becomes a Hong Kong Champion. Because the environment is vastly different you need your horse to adapt to the environment.

That was the case with All Silent. He went over did not settle, showed nothing and was brought back to race here.

That's a soft excuse, plenty have come here and win. Our trainers are 3rd rated campaigning.

Winx won't campaign overseas as Waller knows he is not up to it.

Ridiculous Liam Priors assessment of Comin Through chances before the race.

Total embarrassment.

I think Beauty Generation is a prime example of the four year olds Australia is trying to keep from sale to Hong Kong.  But really we go over and buy that minor stakes winning or G1 placed stayer in Europe all the time so its a bit tit for tat.

Also could he have been as great in Australia.  We just don't know.  He obviously thrived in Hong Kong.

Rather bizarrely this thread has been ignored.
Best horse in the world wins again and the one to beat him was at home with its feet up.

That’s a bloody shame

Big call on best in the world but he would be in the conversation.

Our form lines look worse by the week admittedly.

He will go if the article is correct. Still not sure if that makes him the best in world as Almond Eye won't be in that (just as an example, Enable too)
