Not sure Occy - but the TAB take is almost the highest of all bet types(Big 6 highest) - over 20% i think - also do not get conned by declared dividends as these are based on a $1 investment so most large dividends are usually inflated to accomodate this - that is if for example the combined flexi % across all customers is say, only 60% - then the dividend will be declared at $10,000 in order for the pool of approx $7200 after TABs take to be fully paid out - that is remaining approx $6000 - so Tab gets $1200 - customers get $6000 - biggest con ever as most think that punters out there are actually winning these amounts - so Jackpot dividends - declared with an asterisk after them -  are very misleading - & this has been the case for many years since the introduction of flexi betting

From memory the mean average when I was collecting data was around $400 on the gallops only..I never collected data for the other 2 codes.

An average First 4 div of $400 sounds way too low to me, I'd say $4000 would be nearer the mark.

Just took a look at the gallops results for July over 1300+ races, on NSWTAB the average F4 div was $10014, and the median was $7920.

I would have thought between $3000 to $8000 for the gallops
and maybe $300 to $800 for greyhounds.
Would love to know the greyhound stat.

Ive been trialling a new system and its going ridiculously good.
But not convinced until its over a long period of time.
It involves Place betting, combined with first 4's.
I bet the roughies to run a place, and I put the roughies to run 4th in the first 4(leaving them out of the first 3).

so when they run a place, you are covered, and when they run 4th, the first 4 pays heaps.

will give example

tamworth race 5

bet will be (flexi to cut cost if you wish)

4,9,12,13,14 to place, times $100. cost $500

First 4,
TAMWORTH - 5: TAMWORTH SHOPPINGWORLD BM 55 HCP: First Four - NSW 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 - 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 - 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 - 4, 9, 12, 13, 14 Flexi: 33.48%

Cost $750

Total cost $1250

Or 125 for flexi and 10 to place.

Obviously you can miss some. But its amazing how often one out of the 5 roughis, runs a place, or gets up for 4th.

9 runs 3rd, pays $4

win $400

see what happens is, you basically keep getting your money back coz one of them runs a place.
then you hit a first 4, and you win like $5,000 etc.

whale, do you actually ever contribute to this forum with ideas, good or bad, to do with any subject at all??? or do you just troll like some sort of Cop and throw some slander into your post to go with it?
you are a remarkable species, and you couldnt even tell us if you are loved by your parents or not.
myself and a few people on here, post privately to each other about you(and muffin), and we have some fair ideas whats gone on in your life.
you psycho-analyze us. we do the same to you, only through private posting, because what we think of you would be too insulting to even post on the public forum.

??

This question says it all about your fragile state of mind, obviously you have been in psychotherapy and this was asked of you, since then you have spent a lot of time thinking about it and trying to work out how your life was affected by your unhappy childhood.Well in your case it turned you into a twisted, attention seeking, racist ,hateful ,lying sad individual, but apart from that I suppose you weren't affected much Smile

As i tried to explain earlier u just can't average dividends - many results are inflated to allow for Flexi betting when less than 100% across all customers - happens primarily in small pool races - & for the same reason more so in dogs/ harness - would suggest 15 to 20 % of all races have the First 4 dividend falsely inflated !
