Thought he was in big trouble when Lifesaver put it to him at the 400m

Thought he was GONE at the 200m

But he fought like a caged lion this horse

Then the protest I was on at juicy odds TAB

Heart in mouth stuff but he did it ...... God bless him super effort on debut Sunline Thumbs Up

(I have plenty of spare time today and not going to waste it betting on NARROMINE or WAGGA...so)

Here's a case for the rating of ANOTHER SIN

SANGIOVESE...won at its first start WYONG JAN 2016...won 12.5 k plus a 5k bonus

and was then rated as 63 for its second start...which it also won(winning same amounts) and then went to the CITY as a 68 rater

I expect ANOTHER SIN to be in the 63 to 68 range for its next appearance, otherwise CAVANOUGH has out-smarted the system

**************************************************

btw...on TUESDAY...BEAUMONT... last race

see the ratings ...because it is a MAIDEN /CL 1....the word "MAIDEN" is mentioned and the maidens do not carry a rating.

Different to the HIGHWEIGHT on SATURDAY won by ANOTHER SIN...shown as a class 2 handicap

If a reported $1m plus is on offer and subject to a vet clearance he'd be on the first flight out were he mine.

The Cavanaugh's are in the horse which may affect his future either way.

Cav said it was a cert on radio Friday apparently when there was 6s still available. Good on them for having a dip and good on cav for throwing it out there for the punters.

Oct last year ARRESTAR,won(at first start) 40k for winning an EAGLE FARM 2yo.

then unplaced at DOOMBEN and had first NSW start(third appearance) and rated as 66.

*******************************

I wonder what weight ANOTHER SIN would get in a CLASS 1 at SCONE(home track)...compared to other C1 horses. Imagine 61/62 kg, well clear of rest.

He is a C1,correct djebel?

There is an avenue of attack for maidens in NSW HIGHWEIGHTS now...win first start ,for certain, and the rating will be 59.

MAT Dunne will target these races with his best maidens now.

We bought a horse off him years ago & he seemed a great bloke, trimmed the horse's feet up before he got on the float. Very honest with all dealings. I'm glad he's got a good one.

The rating of future maiden winners will not necessarily be 59. To a large extent it is up to the handicapper, It is not set in stone.

If Another Sin were to be nominated for a class 1 at Scone his weight will depend on the quality of the opposition and the conditions of that class 1.

Now here is some further work by me, to make sense of the ratings in NSW re maidens and their first rating

winners of provincial races at first start....winning prize-money 12 to 17k range

Sangiovese last year r63

and these recent ones

MISSILE CODA 62
D'ARGENTO 62
CHATELARD 62

so this looks set in stone
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

COUNTRY

recent winner NORTHERN KNIGHT first start PORT Macquarie r 53 won 11k

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

CITY HIGHWEIGHT

ANOTHER SIN wins 33k r 59

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Now here is an example of a mid-week near MAIDEN first starter

CALCULATED

first start City unplaced earned 500 bucks

then wins mid-week race, earning 22k

next start a SATURDAY CITY...second earning 19k

now has a rating of 69 a provisional rating

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

There is no question here.. the Highweight system for country horses, as maidens with heaps of ability ....is the way to go

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I hope MAT DUNN is reading this.

Lets see what the rating is for next COUNTRY HIGHWEIGHT first start winner.

We will see how much discretion is used, in time.

59 looks a peak, with others perhaps treated more kindly, unless it happens to be a LUSKIN STAR type
