Bennelong has always been a safe LNP seat ..    Whats all the fuss.
It did fall once , due the the lies of RUDD ,   The start of Australia's decline.

The previous time Labor had a chance there , the area was a cattle route.

We may return to that as soon as the SSM settles .   Routing cattle will be the next "normal " sexual activity when the lefties get sick of pushing
Uphill.

Sorry Max but it does annoy to think SSM has been the great achievement of Australia in the last 70 years.      The fact we are in debt over half a trillin doesn't seem important.

KKK has just conceded ... claims she won by the swing.

Just watching the news -

Bullgelati Bill and Ms Kranky Pants at the ALP Bunker, everyone whooping it up, celebrating yet another electoral LOSS!OuchLOL

Quite bizarre really, if you listen to it, they sound like they just won ...  a fantastic result, they finish the year with their sails full of wind (it's not their sails that's full of wind). Factually, the result was called after only about 20% of the votes were in, and the expected swing against the incumbent was quite pathetic in real terms.Embarrassed

I guess you have to enjoy the things you excel at!LOL

I wonder if KKK will join Bill on another World Wide Victory Tour, similar to the one he embarked on after he lost the last election?LOLLOL

Hey 1+1, no question that she's easy on the eye, but she's a big L loser ... she knows how to celebrate a loss, because that is what the ALP know best.

Unfortunately, she's like one of those jaw droppingly, glamorous half million dollar fillies that the lady trainer snaps up at the sales with the magical and mysterious single bid tactic ... looks like a super star, has 10 unplaced trials over 3 preparations, and is retired to the breeding barn "unraced"

She's all show, no go!

Mind you, I'd be happy to waive the service fee for her!Wink

AS WE ENJOY XMAS, SPARE A MOMENT TO THINK OF THE VICTIMS OF THE SEDUCTIVE LURE OF SOCIALISM

This Christmas, as enjoy the bounty of the wealth created in our nation, spare a moment to think of the victims of the seductive lure of socialism in Venezuela.

Blessed with abundant natural resources, the once fourth richest nation per capita in the world is now experiencing a socialist induced nightmare.

And it's the poor, lured by socialist promises of; free stuff, 'fair' prices and redistribution of wealth that suffer the most.

Minimum wage workers in Venezuela today have just a fifth of the purchasing power they had nearly two decades ago, when the late President Hugo Chavez launched his socialist revolution.

From CTVNews ...........

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Marilyn Pitre recalls taking her family on evening strolls at Christmas time through Altamira Plaza in Venezuela’s capital, soaking up the dazzling lights and giant tree made of light bulbs in a display that once drew comparisons to New York City’s Rockefeller Center.

That was before crisis struck Venezuela.

Now the 40-year-old mother of two wouldn’t dare set foot in the plaza after dark, fearing robbers. And this season, for the first time in years, no festive lights will bring it to life.

It’s a sight that many say mirrors the mood in the once-prosperous oil nation. Middle class residents have cut back on gifts and struggle to afford basic ingredients needed to cook traditional Christmas dishes.

The poor have been hit hardest, some scavenging trash piles year-around to fill their stomachs.

Pitre, pausing in Altamira Plaza on a bright afternoon after leaving work, said she tries to look beyond the shortages and political strife to the deeper meaning of Christmas.

“As Catholics, we celebrate the birth of Jesus,” she said. “But it’s not the same as before.”

Residents endure shortages of cash, soaring inflation and a lack of medicine.

Earlier this year, protesters upset with President Nicolas Maduro’s government clashed daily with riot police for four months in Altamira Plaza and in streets across the country. More than 120 protesters were killed and thousands injured.

Inflation is expected to hit 2,400 percent by the year’s end, said Henkel Garcia, director of the Caracas-based consulting firm Econometrica, adding that minimum wage workers today have a fifth of the purchasing power than nearly two decades ago, when the late President Hugo Chavez launched Venezuela’s socialist revolution.

“This is the darkest Christmas we’ve ever had,” said Guianfranco Perozo, 23, who holds two jobs just to get by.

Searching an open-air market in Caracas for cooking oil, Perozo shrugs when asked if he’s bought any Christmas gifts. Any money left after groceries will go to diapers for his 8-month-old daughter, he said.

“There’s nothing to celebrate,” he said. “Too many people are hungry. Too many people are eating garbage.”

Unrest simmers across Venezuela in the days before Christmas. Gasoline shortages in two states left long lines at filling stations, and residents in a community on the outskirts of Caracas protested food shortages one night, setting piles of garbage on fire, according to Twitter accounts.

Water rationing is common, and a mid-day blackout lasting five hours struck millions in Caracas and two neighboring states a week before Christmas.

Millions of others desperate for work have fled Venezuela. Antonieta Lopez, 35, will celebrate this Christmas for the first time without her husband, forced to find a job in Chile nearly a year ago when work dried up at home.

Plenty of people are out walking past shops, but few buy things, Avellaneda said, adding that when they do find affordable items, there are long waits.

“There are lines at the banks. There are lines in the stores,” she said. “There are lines everywhere.”

SA Labor heavyweight: "We're not representative"

POLITICS

UPDATED | Outgoing ALP president Mark Butler has launched an extraordinary attack on his party's internal structures, saying its membership is not representative of the broader community and that Labor's processes are subject to "backroom buffoonery".Addressing the Victorian Fabian Society last night, Butler warned Labor was “treading water” with falling numbers and only 50,000 members out of a country nearing 25 million.

Butler, the federal MP for Port Adelaide and one of Premier Jay Weatherill’s closest confidantes, said the rank and file of the party needed to be given greater power.

“I’m sorry to say that ours remains a party that gives ordinary members fewer rights than any other labour or social democratic party I can think of,” he said.Butler said many of the reforms discussed at the national conference in 2015 have been blocked by factional leaders.

“It is time to issue a strong call for the conference in Adelaide this July to grasp the nettle and to give ALP members the range of democratic and participatory rights that members of our sister parties across the world take for granted,” he said.

Butler also pushed for a new category of member, called a registered supporter, who could vote in leadership ballots.

The president cited British Labour’s recruitment of 35,000 new members in four days after the 2017 election, taking its body up to 550,000.https://indaily.com.au/news/politics/2018/01/23/sa-labor-heavyweight-not-representative/

So a faceless man show his face just long enough to ... resign!

Do you reckon 3 people who live in his electorate would even know who he is?

LOL, can't work out which Negatively Geared Investment Property he left his Pommie Citizenship renunciation papers in ... maybe he should check his Earl's Court bedsitter!

Just gotta love these career Public Servants from the Regressive Left, who use every tax loop hole, suck the life blood out of the taxpayers for practice, walk away with more money than God ... and then say the rules are broken!Dead
In reference to every post in the Trump thread ... "There may have been a tiny bit of license taken there" ... Ok, Thanks for the "heads up" PT!
