Paul Keating, Peta Credlin and Liberty Sanger among buyers in East Melbourne apartment ‘tower of power’

Former prime minister Paul Keating, political commentator Peta Credlin and high-profile lawyer Liberty Sanger have been revealed as buyers in a new East Melbourne luxury apartment building.

Set to become a new “tower of power”, The Eastbourne on the edge of the Fitzroy Gardens will be home to a who’s who of the city.

Is this on the site of the former Dallas Brooks Hall ?  300 Albert Street I believe. Grand Lodge of the Freemasons.  They own the site.

Also I believe 300 Albert was originally the site of Don Juan House, the residence of 'The Leviathan' bookmaker Joe Thompson who was arguably the biggest and boldest bookmaker this country has ever seen.  He built Don Juan House after his horse Don Juan pulled off a famous sting to win the 1873 Melbourne Cup.

Mirvac and Freemasons Victoria  received approval for an East Melbourne development, to replace Dallas Brooks Hall with 275 luxury residences.

Designed by Bates Smart, the project is on the footstep of the Fitzroy Gardens at 300 Albert Street in East Melbourne.

The 275 residences are next to the headquarters for Freemasons Victoria fronting Victoria Parade.

Re the house that Joe Thompson built. It was ostentatious and had Don Juan's likeness carved in wood above the entrance, as well as having "the most magnificent bookcase ever made in Melbourne " installed in the library.

He's just Bill Shorten with a smaller head, and more corrupt friends!LOL

I've certainly "warmed" to him. He is cannon fodder for ScoMo!Big smile

Poll shows support for Labor leader Anthony Albanese is slipping away

He was supposed to revive Labor’s fortunes after a devastating election defeat but a new poll shows voters haven’t warmed to Anthony Albanese.

The funny thing about Joe Thompson's impressive bookshelves were that he filled them up with leather bound copies of Bow Bells weekly - which was like a British precursor to Reader's Digest.

But back to the discussion at hand.... neener, neener, neener, nah, nah, nah.

So good to see Sam Disasteryari overcome his shyness, and come out and comment on his area of expertise - treason and China.

Fabulous to see him "helping" Elbow ... and taking the pressure off KRudd, so he doesn't have to do all of the "helping" ... LOL

Where is KKCatastrophe btw?
