Way too old. McVeigh especially. Money is in GWS defenders. Zac Williams was a star for me this year, but you cant go wrong with any of their backline, except Davis.

I'm talking about Toll Road's draft comp...not regular supercoach...the teams with scoring backs/ mids finished top in the comp...I struggled with regular backs...though I did have Williams...

Boyd, Hodge and McVeigh will outscore Rampe, Grundy, Laird et al...

Won't be changing in a hurry.

Hope Lewis and Mitchell do ok at their new clubs..for the yr or 2 they have left and
That o'meara and Mitchell have 7-8 great yrs with the Hawks.

O'meara could be anything

True enough.  However at the moment he's nothing if his playing health doesn't improve dramatically.  Wink

Spoken for and on behalf of a Collingwood supporter who considers their off-season trades will almost certainly consign them to the bottom six.

I to think that O'Meara is a huge risk. Hasn't played in the seniors for two years. If he doesn't come good they paid a lot for him. You only have to look at Adam Cooney he never came good again after his knee problems. Same could happen to O'Meara. Mitchell can find the pill but he doesn't really offer any blistering pace. Speed is one of the need the Hawks have even more so after trading Hill to Freo

Just to quote the Herald Sun again Tongue Seems the AFL has come out and said they made a mistake with the O'Meara trade. It did seem that a couple of dodgy trades got through

okay, Toll Road, being a Demons supporter, can you explain this puzzler...

Christian Salem, who suffered a concussion after being hit by a brick that fell out of his backpack on the same camp, will resume full training on Friday.

already stared my fantasy team squad...despite the cap being raised still have trouble fitting in more than half a dozen marquee players...

I feel for Nathan Buckley...whilst he was holding a press conference about de Goey breaking his hand playing with his dog, there were reports going around Collingwood traps that it was caused by a fight at his birthday party...and someone forgot to warn poor Bucks...

now it is out in the open and Nate has egg on his face...Dead

blistering speed is overrated. Hawthorn having won 4 flags in the last 10 yrs without any blistering pace in the engine room just pure footballers.

I used to agree that speed was overrated but in contested ball footy, speed on the outside to spread is critical.  Hawks had plodders inside but they had speed outside.  Brad Hill & Isaac Smith of more recent times.  Earlier it was Bateman, Clinton Young, Cyril etc.  Bateman in particular would sprint hard from the back pocket to get a kick once the Hawks turned the ball over.  Was key to their success.

Quick and precise movement of the ball will always beat leg speed. Always been the case and always will be.

Vision, decision making and skills
Are what it's about. I'd prefer deisel with ball in hand
Than jack hill or Isaac smith every day of the week.
The temptation to pick athletes is obv as its measureable..
Leap, times over certain distances etc..
Lot harder to measure the 1st 3.

Burgoyne never really looks looked like he has/had to put
The peddle to the metal.. Just a swerve and sublime skills.

Anyways o'meara will be a superstar for the Hawks .. Lock it in .

PMD check out sports - bets handicap market ..
Tell me o shouldn't go again at Carlton .. Or follow me in 😀

Quick question before the game tonight. Shall we start a new AFL2017 thread or keep adding to this one (could change the name). Mayor

I'd already wondered if maybe we should change the title to "2016/2017"

I'm just not sure Gay. If I start a new thread, the Bulldog glory will slip down the list :( or at least until this season's finals :D

Stupid prediction time.
Bulldogs to miss the 8.
North to make the 8.
De Goey to be attacked by wild dogs, but nobody believes him.
Luke Parker to win Brownlow.
