Invercargill Thursday January 15

Whilst most the interest thursday will centre around the Northern extremeties thursday(that would be Cambridge and Auckland Reactor)  spare a thought for those in how shall we put it the lower extremeties(that would be Invercargill) as the club hosts The $55000 G3 Northern Southland Cup which has drawn a pretty handy field with the likes of the old fella Roman Gladiator (I think we can call him that now at 8 years of age) mixing it up with Rocket Reign,Les Lisle,Mr Molly,Lucksaladytonight and Loch Nagar, Whilst elsewhere on the program Vi Et Animo tries to make it 7 on end and take his overall to 7 from 9 outings, and one to keep an eye on is the 3yo  Live Or Die gelding Still Coughin from the  stables of Ken Baron resuming in a heat of the southern supremacy seems a nice type having won his  three outings so far .Has led and dictated from the top in two of those wins but his raceday debut at Ashburton last November I thought was very good as he drew the outside of the second line and although seemimg to race ungenerously was still able to run down Van Washing Man.Could be going places only time will tell.

Roman Gladiator could have been anything before injury. What has he done since?

Finbar Abbey made  it two from two here. Not as impressive a winning margin as on debut but equally as impressive a performance.
