It looks a rather exciting season ahead for young middle distant and staying types. Some serious improver's that should make the grade. In no particular order -

Furrion..............................................73
Heavenly Thought............................66
Fifty Stars.........................................73
Lucky For All.....................................74
Mazzuro............................................
Wolfe Tone........................................

4 of those 6 with Darren Weir.

WFA - Ace High, Levendi, Dark Dream, Grunt, Leicester.

Caulfield Cup/handicappers - California Turbo, Omineca, Sopressa, Hiyaam, Unforgotten, Youngstar, Runaway, Rezealient.

Not sure what is happening with Pinot, but she could benefit from her absence in the autumn.

I agree with you djebel, I think the top end of this seasons 3yo's middle distance and staying types are pretty good and have a good base to develop from.

Even horses like Tangled, Higher Ground, Astoria and Lucky For All have shown nice talent.

You might want to keep an eye on this one djebel. Scratched tomorrow (Mildura) from an intended 1st up attempt at 2000m & obviously a Lloyd Williams pass on Wink

Personally l wouldn't have Wolfe Tone in this discussion. He's still a maiden. I know he does run the odd cheeky race but he's clearly a few levels below the others mentioned in here.

Not giving up on Main Stage. He's inconsistent but his best is good enough to win a nice race one day.

Except for the white star you'd say Lloyds finger prints are all over this horse but he has it seems come straight from Andre Fabre and sacked by Juddmonte ?

Not answering that question but reckon that Melbourne race is every bit as good as the Brisbane stakes race.

Yeah, apparently they use the same plane as Australia Post.
Depends on how many parcels they have as to how horses can fit

I had a nibble on Mazzuro as well djebel, but there is no rating for him here.

Are they the handicap ratings, or your own thoughts?
