So before todays racing anyone like anything they have seen so far.

Always wary of the NZer's and now with Busuttin having the Victoria base, that complicates it more.

I thought Salsamor ran well behind Showtime in the Stutt, I think Ace High could be a top four hope and when Steve Richards gets a good one he does well with it so eager to see Sunquest today against Murray Bakers Weather With You.

Sully and Main Stage also add to Busuttin's brood.

Should have some answers by the end of today's racing.

James Cummings mentioned the Caulfield Guineas for him so that suggests to me that he thinks he's not an out and out stayer.

I backed Main Stage @ $17 and Tavistock Abbey @ $13 after the trial. Expect some got much better for TA.

Looks to be a competitive Derby this year , so maybe the tide is turning and we will have some promising future stayers to give the distances races a lift instead of having to bear watching a race in Sydney today and a ver weak metropolitan, Reliable Man stock looking good and the High Chap. jumping out of. the ground everywhere along with Tavistock.

Will not happen will not happen.

Whilst they will look good against Aussie developed 3yos when they have to take on European horses in open grade races they will be found put.

It is not the breeding it is the campaigning.

Bussitin has an extremely strong hand here. Main Stage and Sully the best of the Derby trials today for mine. Very interested to see Salsamor oout to a trip too.

So when do we start worrying about European horses, we look after our own backyard before we give them a thought, we have a football field of 3rd rated euro's here as it is,
we have raced for 150 years and produced many class horse training in a way that suits the Ozzie style, if it didn't suit it would have been changed many years ago, don't be so negative, but I think it's too late.

Of course it worked whilst the majority of our older staying horses had been developed in AusNZ, now we can all see the errors of our ways.

Has Royal Symphony definitively been ruled out of The Derby? To my eye it is the race he is crying out for at his favourite track. Caulfield Guineas, AAMI Vase, Victoria Derby if he were mine.

We will see how he goes Khan, in strong 2500m at Flemington.

A small field, no pace and Caulfield were made to order for him.

Even Weir was hesitant to say yes when asked if he would run at Flemington.

Definitely not 100% to go the Derby way. Don't be surprised if he backs up next week in the Vase.

Send him an e-mail, djebel. Call yourself a "turf consultant".

He'd probably need reminding just who Cliffs Edge is.

He might be more of a micro-manager than you know.

Like your thinking second chance.

I'm on him at 61s for the Derby

hope he runs well on Wednesday to confirm them going to the Derby.

Any rain around over the next few weeks would help him

Are you still Highly Geared?  Wink

ps unless he has a problem NLH will go around in the Derby Trial Stakes at Geelong on Wednesday where he'll hopefully establish himself as a contender in the big race.

did anyone like the win of GREYCLIFFE today over 2200 at seymour?

he's only a little fella but has a lovely stride and looks a very game customer. he overaced early sitting outside the leader but put them a way cold.

I took $26 straight afterwards....not confirmed he will go to derby, matt cumani wants to, but his father is a part owner so they will talk it out first.
