I like Red Cardinal. Almandin has been good so far as well.
Australian racing is only good up to 1400m in terms of world standards when it comes to depth/quality in numbers

Saeed bin Suroor skips Melbourne spring

Racing Article

racing.com Staff

Godolphin trainer Saeed bin Suroor will be missing from the Spring Racing Carnival for the first time in a decade after it was confirmed on Thursday morning that none of his nominated horses would be entering quarantine for a trip to Melbourne.

Emirates Melbourne Cup entrants Natural Scenery, Prize Money, Red Galileo and Winning Story were in consideration for a trip down under, as was Cox Plate-nominated galloper Best Solution.

The Newmarket-based trainer claimed the Group 2 Zipping Classic in 2016 with staying mare Beautiful Romance, eight years after he famously prepared All The Good to win the 2008 Caulfield Cup. He’s also come close in the Melbourne Cup in recent years with Beautiful Romance (seventh in 2016), Lost In The Moment (sixth in 2011) and Crime Scene (second in 2009).

Godolphin's hopes of Group 1 success during the spring will rest with local horseman James Cummings, as well as UK trainer Charlie Appleby who already has Francis of Assisi, Folkswood, Qewy and Kidmenever in quarantine in Newmarket ahead of their arrival in Melbourne on Saturday week.

I do not think anybody has any idea what she is doing apart from the Epsom Handicap.

She is a big chance in any race she runs in.

I am unloading on Albert.

He's the 3rd favourite in the Japan G1 2200 All Comers today. Hope he comes because he is a massise chance.

I have made a guess, probably incorrectly, that he will not go there.

Do not take too much notice of it.

Well this time last year you were singing the praises of Curren Mirotic and 'unloaded' on him for the Melb Cup. But he was only ever just the token Japanese runner to ensure the VRC got their 3% cut of the Japanese tote pool. As expected he ran an inglorious 23rd.

Let's see if Albert can do better for you Red Rancher.

Good luck with that $1k bet RR. I haven't seen vision of today's race but results show he ran a well beaten 7th at Nakayama today over 2200m. I know today's distance is well below his best, but you'd have to wonder if connections would bother coming to Melbourne, especially when he could stay at home and get ready for a 3rd consecutive Nippon Sho over 3600m in the first week of December.

He is the one in the black and red with the light coloured cap ( not sure what colour that is Embarrassed ) Number 2 saddle clothe.

His jockey swings him sharply wide as they come around the bend as a horse up front stops quickly in front of him.

I think it was a great run.

I think Harlem has an air of timing about him. Low down in the weights and peaking at the right time the big Cups double might not be beyond him.

Even after his 0.5kg penalty for winning the Naturalism Stks, he's still only 59th in the order of entry for the Melb Cup at the moment. There wail be plenty drop out at 1st acceptances next month but I think he's going to need to win something on the way through to make the field. I'm sure David Hayes is hoping that win will be the Caulfield Cup, but if he doesn't win that, they may need to backup in the MV Cup, Bendigo Cup or Hotham Hcp to force his way into the Melb Cup field.
