Okay, after a week of study,

here is what Ive come up with.

get the feeling it will be run at a true pace.
So nice staying test indeed.

I seriously question at least 12 of the horses in this being able to stay.

Given that, here is what I believe will happen.

Bonneval has a nice motor and really quickens nicely when its a staying test.

She goes in top 4.

Johannes Verneer.
Obviously enjoying home here in Oz, and went past them like a wet sail last week.
Goes in top 4.
really nice action too. floats over the ground. Reminds me a bit of Lonhros action.
Can clearly stay of course.

Marmelo.
Bowmans pick of a bunch. Has settled in well according to Bowman, trust that info. Can be near lead and give a strong kick.
Big strong horse, that did well overseas against decent fields.
Goes in top 4.

They are the 3 key players I believe and will be evident at the 200.

Outside of this, I would throw in Jon Snow, Ventura Storm, but not much confidence.

Willing to risk Amelias Star and Abbey Marie.

Harlem in barrier 1, might give a nice kick in the straight.

I will go a roving banker first 4.

JOHANNES VERMEER, MARMELO, BONNEVAL

We can put up excellent credentials for at least 10 of them .
I feel the dutch on the longer priced of the top few chances.
NO NO NO the Fav ... MIles Unders
Outside 10 alley   they need luck.
SO this little black duck = Dutches >>> Ventura Storm -- Lord Fandango -- Harlem.
I Pray = they give Amelie's Star a soft run before winning the MC.

Even given the money for the favorite, why has Humidor drifted from $5.50 to $8 and $2.85 the place?  Confused

An e/w quote I immediately accepted, along with Single Gaze at $34 and $8.65.

I'm sure Single Gaze will be doing my head in a bit when I sit down to nut the race out. She cost me some great multis by just missing the place last start which might bias me against her, but I seriously doubt she can run a drum from that barrier because she seems too one dimensional for a CC and Kathy only rides her the one way. Also think she's nommed for the Railway, which makes me think the Cups are more a throw at the stumps. Love the horse but not quite good enough for a top 4 finish on Saturday. But I might change my mind when I map the race etc.

And I'll be risking Humidor because you need the right temperament to win a CC.

Tough race.

It's a cracker. And even if I don't win anything there's not a horse in the race I would hate to see winning. Really looking forward to it.

Dont want to blow my own trumpet, but will.
I regard Caulfield Cup as my race.
I have an insanely good record on this race since 1995.
Im miles in front on the punt.

Ive become rubbish at the Melbourne Cup, Golden Slipper, Derby. And I tend to just watch the cox plate, rather than bet on it.

Just saying, I do have a great record on this race.
And when I havent won, Ive come 2nd anyway. By example, I bet Nom Du jeu heavily in 2008. I stood to win a fortune at 40-1. One more stride he wins. Flew home

With that said, I believe this market is right.
Johannes Verneer is going to be very very hard to beat.

Im doing exotics, but may launch into Johannes Verneer to win
