CC weights released today.

http://www.racingaustralia.horse/FreeFields/Weights.aspx?Key=2017Oct21,VIC,Caulfield&BodyClass=PrintFriendly

So much for using ratings to determine weights and having a G1 template
Eg

Gngernuts  105 - 55    (2kg disadvantage)

You'd have to assume they come here with Almandin now that he can't be penalised for a win? With 1.5kgs off Hartnell he looks a good price at $26.

It is just ludicrous Carpenter will not penalise this bloke should have win the Caulfield Cup.

As he said himself when explaining Almandins Melbourne Cup weight. despite being a 8yo out time he has still been well hidden. He is undefeated from 2200m.

It is just idiotic to legislate against penalising horses, unless you are going to go the whole hog.

😆

Apart from that, they might see the race as an opportunity to qualify another runner.

JC on SSR today saying that Hartnell is very unlikely to line up. Caulfield Stakes next if he doesn't.

There are too many options for horses to dodge other horses in the on city.

Amelies Star must be a good chance of sneaking in if Almandin and Hartnell don't run

I also have her at around 22 or 23 at the moment.

My understanding is that Single Gaze would be kept to wfa and 2000m, until the 2400m Zipping Classic, but she is racing well so maybe the prep has changed.

Again I have been told that Lloyd will scratch either Sir Isaac or Galante, and the one who stays is the pacemaker for Almandin and Johannes Vermeer.

That would get her to 20.

The word from Werribee is that any of the internationals who run this week will not be backing up the next week in the cup.

As far as I can see she is the second emergency at the moment.
Remember, it might take intelligence to be smart , but it takes experience to be wise

I am pretty sure Single Gaze is being aimed at the Melbourne Cup.

Johannes Vermeer is a fair chance of backing up from the Caulfield Stakes.

Amelie's Star - 0.5kg penalty & she would be in after beating last years Melb Cup winner & running pretty much same time he did winning last year #ludicrous

Almandin & Hartnell are most likely going to come out. Hardham & He’s Our Rokki would be candidates as well. That leaves Amelie’s Star as first emergency unless Inference turns it up again.

Ventura Storm drifting heavily on the fair.

Something up??

He should be under $10 for this race, but pushing $20 now on the fair. Something doesn't add up
